  1. We’ll ensure you are as comfortable as possible throughout your treatment. We will apply a topical numbing cream, and give you a pain medication upon consultation and an assistant will be on hand to cool your skin with ice cold air during treatment. 
  2. Redness, swelling and localised pain is normal post treatment and usually heals within a few days. You may experience prolonged skin redness for 3 - 4 weeks. 
  3. Swelling and oozing, especially around the eyes, is normal and treated areas may crust if not kept moist. 
  4. Immediately following the procedure, you can expect a sensation similar to sunburn, which may last for several hours.
  5. You will be supplied with a home care pack and instructions on how to care for your skin and achieve optimal results. 
  6. Results will continue to improve for 6-9 months, but will be partially visible from 3 - 5 days.

Post treatment Guidelines 

  1. Redness and soreness is normal and will settle within a week. 
  2. Micro lesions are normal after a few days.
  3. We recommend Paracetamol for any pain and discomfort. 
  4. No make up for 5 days.
  5. No facial cleansing for 24 hours.
  6. Moisturise the treatment area according to take home care pack and doctors instructions. 
  7. Use a good, broad spectrum sunscreen 
  8. Avoid strenuous exercise, hot baths and saunas for 24 hours.
  9. It is also important to note that you will have to avoid being in the sun for 6 weeks post-treatment otherwise you may develop areas of hyperpigmentation.
  10. If you have swelling, you may apply a cool compress for 15 minutes each hour if instructed to do so by your doctor.
  11. It is recommended that you wait at least 12 weeks before having any other facial treatments.
  12. In the days following treatment, you will experience peeling of dead skin from the treatment area.
  13. Usually after 3 days, most of the skin will be off.
  14. You may experience a secondary flaking phase; this is a natural exfoliation process and may last seven to 10 days.
  15. It is also important to note that you will have to avoid being in the sun for 6 weeks post-treatment otherwise you may develop areas of hyperpigmentation.
  16. Antibiotics may be prescribed to prevent infection.
