Post treatment Guidelines
- Redness and soreness is normal and will settle within a week.
- Micro lesions are normal after a few days.
- We recommend Paracetamol for any pain and discomfort.
- No make up for 5 days.
- No facial cleansing for 24 hours.
- Moisturise the treatment area according to take home care pack and doctors instructions.
- Use a good, broad spectrum sunscreen
- Avoid strenuous exercise, hot baths and saunas for 24 hours.
- It is also important to note that you will have to avoid being in the sun for 6 weeks post-treatment otherwise you may develop areas of hyperpigmentation.
- If you have swelling, you may apply a cool compress for 15 minutes each hour if instructed to do so by your doctor.
- It is recommended that you wait at least 12 weeks before having any other facial treatments.
- In the days following treatment, you will experience peeling of dead skin from the treatment area.
- Usually after 3 days, most of the skin will be off.
- You may experience a secondary flaking phase; this is a natural exfoliation process and may last seven to 10 days.
- It is also important to note that you will have to avoid being in the sun for 6 weeks post-treatment otherwise you may develop areas of hyperpigmentation.
- Antibiotics may be prescribed to prevent infection.
